Validate multiple barcodes without uploading your data
Use this free bulk GTIN checker for retail catalogues, product feeds and spreadsheet clean-up. It accepts GTIN-8, GTIN-12 (UPC-A), GTIN-13 (EAN-13) and GTIN-14. Each row is checked independently using the same GTIN validation logic as the single-number tool.
Supported formats
| Identifier | Digits including check digit | Typical barcode usage |
|---|---|---|
| GTIN-8 | 8 | EAN-8 |
| GTIN-12 | 12 | UPC-A |
| GTIN-13 | 13 | EAN-13 |
| GTIN-14 | 14 | Used in several GS1 data carriers and packaging workflows |
How the batch checker works
- Paste one identifier per line, or select a CSV file smaller than 1 MB. Each batch supports up to 1,000 non-empty rows.
- If the CSV contains a GTIN, UPC, EAN or Barcode column, that column is used; otherwise the first column is read.
- For each identifier, the tool checks characters, supported length and the GS1 modulo-10 check digit.
- The report shows the detected format, expected check digit, duplicated entries and the fixed 14-digit representation of valid values.
- Download the complete CSV to correct your source records outside ProductPassKit.

Excel may remove leading zeroes if a barcode column is treated as a number. Preserve identifier columns as text when exporting. Also check for truncated digits, barcode symbology confusion and copied punctuation. See why a GTIN fails validation for a diagnostic checklist.
For marketplace-feed errors, follow the Google Merchant Center GTIN troubleshooting checklist. Developers can also download our GTIN validation test vectors (CSV/JSON) to regression-test their own code.
Scope and privacy
A mathematically valid GTIN does not establish product ownership, GS1 licensing, registration or a live product listing. CSV processing and validation happen in this browser; no upload is required. The CSV report preserves the row input for review and escapes spreadsheet formula characters.
Frequently asked questions
Can I validate a CSV of UPC and EAN numbers?
Yes. Upload a CSV with a GTIN, UPC, EAN or Barcode column, or use the first column if no recognised identifier header exists. You can export a row-by-row CSV report.
Why is my GTIN marked invalid?
A value can have an unsupported length, nonnumeric characters or a check digit that does not match the GS1 modulo-10 calculation. A missing leading zero is another common cause.
Does this verify that a GTIN is assigned to a product?
No. It checks numeric structure only, not whether a number was issued, assigned, licensed or associated with any particular product.
Are my identifiers uploaded?
No. Pasted values and uploaded CSV files are parsed and validated within your browser. They are not sent to ProductPassKit servers.
